A Strong Foundation

Volaris Group highly regards knowledge-sharing and creates as many opportunities as possible for this to happen across its businesses daily. Still, we recognize that nothing is more effective than being able to meet, face-to-face, with colleagues to have fully enriched discussions. Hence, in 2019, the Volaris Quadrants conference was born.

The most recent installment of Quadrants concluded a short time ago. The conference saw a diverse group of 1,300 Volaris employees from over 200 companies coming together in Cancun, Mexico for four full days of learnings and discussions.

This year’s theme, “Better Together”, took center stage, underscoring that the combined knowledge of individuals and organizations can produce greater outcomes than the sum of their separate contributions.

Gathering of Industry Leaders

Quadrants has become a key event for Volaris companies looking to collaborate, innovate, and address shared challenges, often, but not always, with individuals who operate in the same vertical. The 2024 conference saw representatives from numerous sectors coming together to exchange insights and explore strategies for progress.

One notable group in attendance was Volaris Automotive, a collective of seven automotive software companies. This group was particularly focused on leveraging the event’s collaborative spirit to tackle pressing issues within their industry. Volaris Automotive companies utilized the platform to hold discussions about navigating the evolving automotive landscape, which is experiencing rapid technological and market changes.

Facing Challenges Together

Volaris Automotive’s participation at the conference demonstrated a proactive approach to industry challenges. Recognizing the need to tackle these issues head-on, the portfolio met in smaller discussion groups, made up of different companies, functional roles and perspectives. In these groups, company representatives identified specific industry pain points and developed strategies that would address them.

Conversations included:

  • The growing trend of dealership consolidation
  • Direct-to-consumer and agent sales
  • The impact mobility-as-a-service (MaaS)

With the growing influence of artificial intelligence (AI), discussions revolved around how AI could be harnessed to the benefit of original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), suppliers and dealerships. AI-driven data insights, predictive analytics, and automation have the potential to transform traditional business models and create new efficiencies across the value chain.

AI at the Forefront

The dialogue on AI extended to the exploration of emerging direct-to-consumer trends. As automotive companies increasingly shift towards direct engagement with consumers, the role of AI in understanding and anticipating customer needs became a focal point of conversations. Many attendees emphasized that in a rapidly changing market, leveraging AI would be crucial for success in meeting these new consumer demands and expectations—and the sooner, the better.

The consensus among the Volaris Automotive group was clear: By working collaboratively and harnessing the latest technological advancements, the group’s automotive software companies can significantly impact the industry’s future trajectory. Such collaboration would empower companies to not only overcome current challenges but also anticipate and capitalize on future opportunities.

Going Forward Together

The real challenge becomes making this a reality. Groups were tasked to not only identify the pressing issues but to also create an action plan to move forward. Each team put together their ideas and presented their plans to the rest of the attendees. This idea exchange created enthusiasm and inspiration across the room, as companies began to brainstorm on how to apply these proposals into their own business plans and

This exchange will long benefit each company well after the conference, as they are now more tightly engaged with one another and are electrified to make their significant impact on the automotive industry.
